As companies invest more in analytics, it is important to choose the right web analytics programme. Aside from Google Analytics, programmes can be classified in the 'paid for' market. Google Analytics is also being used by 87% of the companies, generally in conjunction with another analytics programme. Figure 21 shows that Omniture has the most market share, with 39% of companies saying they use Omniture technology.

Just over a quarter of companies (26%) use WebTrends. The results show that a wide variety of solutions are available and used by companies. Compared to the previous year, WebTrends has gained ground on Omniture however.
