Data Engineer

About This Role
  • This role is based in our London or Edinburgh office, where you’ll be part of a team of data engineers that work to support and deliver solutions for our clients.
  • You’ll develop an expert understanding of Web Analytics tools such as Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics and WebTrends.
  • You’ll also work with associated technologies such as Tag Management Systems, Optimisation/Personalisation platforms, Heatmap Analysis tools, Session Replay tools and Business Intelligence Visualisation tools.
  • You’ll have the opportunity to work across a number of different business models and market sectors.
  • You will be required to manage projects both internally and also liaise with client teams and participate in client meetings.

About You
  • At least two years experience building and designing websites.
  • A good knowledge of HTML, Javascript and CSS.
  • Experience with Web Analytics, CRM Systems or Relational Databases is desired.
  • A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or another IT subject.

About This Role

Reporting to the Head of Analytics, you will be a key member of our growing analytics team within Lynchpin. Commercially focused, you will be an ambitious individual with a passion to join one of the UK’s leading analytics consultancies working alongside some global brands.

  • Carry out analysis in support of client engagements as required, covering on-line and off-line data and tools.
  • Work with client stakeholders to understand key business drivers and requirements.
  • Design and manage analysis projects, processes and data to drive significant improvements for clients in areas such as revenue, profitability, cost efficiency and media spend.
  • Identify and extract, or develop ETL requirements as appropriate, relevant datasets for business intelligence reporting as well as advanced statistical modelling.
  • Developing insightful and actionable recommendations based on data analysis and communicating these clearly and succinctly to clients.
  • Managing relationships with stakeholders as directed, including updates on plans, outputs, and managing expectations.
  • Provide consultancy to clients on analytics approaches and techniques.
About You
  • Strong analytics background with a degree in a relevant subject or experience within an analytical role

  • Design and manage analysis projects, processes and data to drive significant improvements for clients in areas such as revenue, profitability, cost efficiency and media spend.
  • Developing insightful and actionable recommendations based on data analysis and communicating these through visually inspiring dashboards, reports or presentations to clients.
  • Managing relationships with stakeholders as directed, including updates on plans, outputs, and managing expectations.
  • Provide consultancy to clients on analytics approaches and techniques.
About You
  • Ability to work with a variety of web analytical tools such as GoogleAnalytics and Adobe Analytics.
  • Minimum 2 years experience working in a digital analyst or marketing analyst role.
  • Experience building visually engaging dashboards in BI tools such as Tableau, BIRST, Looker, D3
  • Some experience processing, analysing and manipulating customer data sets using SQL.
  • Strong communication and story telling skills
  • Some experience of using Tag Manager tools: Google Tag Manager (GTM) or Dynamic Tag Manager (DTM) is desirable.

About This Role

We are looking for a senior analytics consultant to join our growing team. Reporting to the Head of Consultancy, you will be a key member of our growing consultancy team within Lynchpin. Commercially focused, you will be an ambitious individual with a passion to join one of the UK’s leading analytics consultancies working alongside some global brands. In this critical position and supported by a team of data scientists you will play a pivotal role in developing our market proposition and service capability.

In this role you will be expected to lead large and complex analytics projects for our clients, maximizing the benefits for these clients and ensuring that our propositions are best-in-class. Supported by a team of data scientists and technology experts you will be expected to understand complex technical details and translate these into compelling commercially focused outcomes. This is a front-facing role where communication, project management experience and influencing skills are vital.

Summary of key responsibilities:

  • Work with client stakeholders to understand key business drivers and requirements.
  • Ability to engage and excite C-level (and minus one) on the benefits of analytics and data-led insight within complex change initiatives.
  • Work with the rest of the team to develop our portfolio of leading services
  • Develop new process and methods to support our clients’ analytics strategy development
  • Develop strategic plans for our clients based on insight and research from our data science teams
  • Regularly present findings and results to clients
  • Support the team in pre-sales activity including RFPs
  • Provide PMO support to the wider team
  • Engage with Clients and prospects develop and build new relationships
  • Organise and run workshops and training sessions supporting the needs of our clients
  • Keep up to date with the latest news, trends within digital analytics and data science, producing white papers, case studies and other timely material.
  • Manage internal stakeholders and build relationships across the business to identify opportunities to support our clients better with best-in-class services and consultancy.
About You
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and a working knowledge of statistical techniques
  • 4-5 years’ experience working with cross functional teams to deliver insight-led projects
  • Strong communication skills with an ability to translate complex analytical concepts into concise and compelling presentations
  • Experienced in stakeholder management
  • Experienced in gathering requirements and translating these into complex technical solutions.
  • Strategic mindset with an ability to communicate to both technical and senior audiences.
  • An ability to interrogate datasets and identify and extract relevant insights.
  • Passion for creating and executing new opportunities for our clients to help them become market leaders in analytics and using their data effectively.
